"Royal Brackla, "The King's Own Whisky," boasts a rich history as the first Scotch whisky granted a Royal Warrant by King William IV in 1833, earning its "Royal" name and regal status. Founded by Captain William Fraser in 1812 on the Cawdor Estate, it survived illicit distilling days, flourished after the Excise Act of 1823, became a key malt for blends (like Dewar's), faced closures (1985-1991), and was eventually acquired by Bacardi, which launched its single malt range in 2015, emphasizing its opulent, sherry-cask-finished style."
