Distillery Information
"Springbank's story is one of resilience, tradition, and family legacy, starting in 1828 in Campbeltown, built on an illicit still site by the Mitchell family, who still own it, making it Scotland's oldest independent family distillery. They survived Campbeltown's whisky boom and bust by fiercely maintaining in-house, traditional production, including floor malting, resisting trends towards lighter whiskies, and even surviving closures in the 20th century by focusing on quality, becoming a cult icon for its unique, heavily traditional malts."
