Distillery Information

It’s been an exciting couple of years for Middle West Spirits! They opened their doors in 2010 as Ohio’s first micro-distillery, creating their OYO line that quickly grew from vodka to bourbon to whiskey and beyond. When the distillery was initially open, they offered casual tours and tastings, but as their portfolio has grown and as Ohio laws have shifted, they’ve renovated completely to create a whole new experience. We’ve gone on tours multiple times over the years, and you’ll usually find a bottle or two of their spirits in our cabinets. I’m especially partial to their whiskey and honey vanilla bean vodka. But it’s always good to get a fresh look at the space, especially given all the upgrades in recent years. The renovations of the distillery itself have grown it by leaps and bounds. What used to be a long warehouse space with barrels and with the distilling equipment in the center has transformed into a multi-story operation with copper stills reaching up to the ceiling. Fun fact: their 55-foot still is the tallest in Ohio. On the upper floors of the distillery you can see out over the Short North Arts District.
