1800 Colección Friedeberg is an exceptionally rare collaboration between 1800 Tequila and celebrated Mexican Surrealist artist Pedro Friedeberg. The 2026 release presents a hand-selected Extra Añejo tequila inside the sculptural Mono Laberinto Doble nickel decanter, one of Friedeberg's final artistic works. Produced only in exceptional years, the tequila is crafted from carefully selected mature Blue Weber agave, traditionally baked, double distilled and matured in French oak before being balanced with selected aged reserves. Rich honey, caramel and vanilla are joined by dried fruit and subtle oak, creating a refined and luxurious sipping tequila.

Nose: Dates, honey and rich caramel lead the aroma, followed by soft vanilla and mature oak. Subtle dried-fruit sweetness adds further depth.

Palate: Silky and richly textured, with honey, dried plum and vanilla at the centre. Mature agave sweetness is balanced by elegant oak and a delicate almond-like nuttiness.

Finish: Long, smooth and refined, with lingering vanilla, gentle oak and soft dried-fruit sweetness.

Distillery Information

1800 Tequila is rooted in the Beckmann family's long tequila-making tradition and takes its name from the year 1800, when the family began ageing tequila in wooden barrels. The brand is crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested in Jalisco and has developed a reputation for combining traditional tequila production with premium ageing and artistic collaborations. The ultra-prestige Colección series is reserved for rare Extra Añejo releases presented in specially commissioned collector decanters. Pedro Friedeberg's relationship with 1800 dates back to earlier artist collaborations, making the 2026 Mono Laberinto Doble release a continuation of the shared connection between Mexican tequila, art and craftsmanship. With only 50 pieces produced, this edition represents one of the rarest releases in the modern 1800 Colección series.
