      Detailed Description

Plums, cloves, menthol and a host of dark, balsamic-infused aromas and flavors wrap around the palate as the 2010 Barbaresco Rombone opens up in the glass. With a little time, the wine blossoms beautifully, showing remarkable depth and richness. Here the tannins are barely noticeable, as the fruit virtually buries the wine's structural components.

The Rombone spent one year in French oak barrels (33% new) followed by a second year in cask.

          Producer Information

The story of Nada Fiorenzo is a great love story between a courageous family and a plot of land in a fantastic location: the Rombone vineyard. It began in the late 1950s when Fiorenzo inherited from his father a portion of the family vineyards whose grapes he used to sell. Th e story turned into a magnifi cent adventure in 1982, when Fiorenzo’s son Bruno began making wine from his father’s grapes with only one aim in mind: quality. It was a bold choice but a fortunate one, based on total confi ence in the soil of the Rombone vineyard. It was thus that not only Langhe Nebbiolos, Barbarescos, Dolcettos and Barbera d’Albas, but also Seifi le and Barbaresco Rombone came into being, the latter two classics that stand out among the great creations of contemporary winemaking. Bruno subsequently enlarged the small vineyard, and fi rst Barbaresco Manzola, then, more recently, Barbaresco Montaribaldi were born.
