Distillery Information

Maker’s Mark was founded in 1953 by Bill Samuels Sr., who sought to create a smoother, more approachable bourbon using red winter wheat instead of rye. Unlike many distilleries, Maker’s Mark rotates barrels within the warehouse to ensure consistent maturation. The brand emphasizes flavor balance and smoothness rather than aggressive oak influence.
