Alta Napa Valley (commonly known as Alta Winery) is a boutique, family-owned estate founded in 2008 by owner and winemaker Fred Oliai, who set out to craft small-lot, handcrafted wines that reflect the rugged character of Napa Valley, California. Perched at an elevation of 1,700 feet in the Atlas Peak district, the producer manages a pristine 90-plus acre property (including an 11-acre estate vineyard) alongside a 22-acre riverside parcel on the Silverado Trail. The winery emphasizes sustainable farming and minimal intervention vinification, yielding fewer than 2,000 cases annually and notably acting as a trusted, long-term fruit supplier to the iconic Kongsgaard Wines. Adorned with eye-catching labels featuring local wildlife, their limited portfolio is anchored by the acclaimed, flagship "Oso Malo" Cabernet Sauvignon alongside focused bottlings of Merlot, Carneros Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay.
