The soil, which is fairly consistent across the estate, combines clay, sand, limestone and Galestro stone, which is well-suited to the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that is planted here. Sette Ponti's oldest vineyard is the 3ha (7.4 acre) Vigna dell'Impero (Empire Vineyard), planted in 1935 by the Count of Turin. Sette Ponti produces wines in several Tuscan appellations.
