Acumen is a premier, mountain-grown wine estate in Napa Valley, California, founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Eric Yuan, who was inspired by the balanced, traditional style of French wines he fell in love with while studying in Paris. Located in the rugged and high-elevation Atlas Peak AVA, the estate encompasses 116 organically certified acres of vines spread across two distinct properties: Attelas Vineyard—originally planted in 1992 by Dr. Jan Krupp before he founded the legendary Stagecoach Vineyard—and the higher-altitude Edcora Vineyard. While the winery sells a majority of its coveted mountain fruit to other elite Napa producers, it retains the finest blocks to craft its own small portfolio under the direction of legendary veteran winemaker Phillip Titus and vineyard manager Doug Hill. Taking inspiration from the classically structured, lower-alcohol Napa Cabernets of the 1960s and 1970s, Acumen is highly celebrated for its age-worthy estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and its flagship "PEAK" and "Mountainside" tier blends.
