      Detailed Description

The 2015 Lang & Reed Two-Fourteen Clone 214 Cabernet Franc is an earthy, savory, and elegant red wine featuring a dark ruby color and complex herbaceous layers.

      Producer Information

Lang & Reed Napa Valley, founded by husband-and-wife wine veterans Tracey and John Skupny, was established in 1993 (releasing their first commercial vintage in 1996) as a deliberate counter-cultural statement against the heavy Cabernet Sauvignon dominance of Napa Valley. Named after the middle names of their two sons, Jerzy Lang and J. Reed, the family-owned winery built its reputation on a deep passion for the traditional grapes of France's Loire Valley: Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc. Having previously spent decades climbing the ranks of legendary Napa estates like Caymus, Spottswoode, and Niebaum-Coppola, John Skupny brought extensive industry insight to the brand, aiming to craft highly aromatic, food-friendly, and "gulp-able" wines defined by New World fruit character and Old World elegance. Today, the business operates as a multi-generational family affair out of the historic Spring House tasting salon in St. Helena, sourcing fruit from premier, thoughtfully farmed partner vineyards across Napa, Alexander Valley, Lake County, and Mendocino to offer a beautifully balanced, lower-alcohol alternative to the region's typical powerhouse reds.
