Producer Information
The Compañía de Vinos del Atlántico was founded in 2002 with the aim of uniting the heritage and tradition of the families of Alberto and Patrick Matas. Both have been producing wine since the end of the 19th century in the most diverse regions of Spain. The aim of the Compañía de Vinos del Atlánticois to produce unique wines that express the authenticity of their origins and their land. The rediscovery of old native grape varieties such as the Tintilla de Rota, which is rarely found in the sherry regions, proves that the community and work of the winemakers is on the right track. The 5 hectares of vines grow near the Atlantic Ocean on the so-called Albariza soil, which is mainly a mixture of limestone and clay. In the hot and dry summer, with its Atlantic influenced winds, the vineyards benefit from the energy of the water absorbed in autumn and winter.
