Producer Information
Domaine Blain Sœur & Frère is a boutique, highly focused wine estate in the Beaujolais region of France, established in 2014 when siblings Lucie and Marc-Antonin Blain acquired roughly 14 acres (5.6 hectares) of prized old vines on the slopes of Mont Brouilly. Born into a winemaking legacy at their family's renowned Burgundy estate, Domaine Blain-Gagnard in Chassagne-Montrachet, the brother-and-sister duo combined Marc-Antonin's enological background and global cellar experience with Lucie's management skills to start their independent venture. Practicing lutte raisonnée (sustainable viticulture), they manage a collection of over 50-year-old Gamay vines manually from pruning to harvest. While the fruit is cultivated across the volcanic, granite, and clay terroirs of the Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly crus, the hand-picked grapes are meticulously vinified back at their cellars in Chassagne-Montrachet, resulting in mineral-driven, structured cuvées such as their flagship "Pierre Bleue".
