Moulin de la Roque, formed in 1950 through the merger of three neighboring wine cooperatives in southeastern France, is a premier and formidable force in the celebrated Bandol AOC of Provence. Spanning more than 300 hectares of vines across the region's unique terroirs—representing roughly 20% of the entire appellation—the producer brought together 130 winegrowing families to preserve traditional Provençal viticulture. Originally established inside a disused 16th-century flour mill in La Cadière-d'Azur, the winery is a vocal pioneer of sustainable agriculture in Provence, achieving extensive High Environmental Value (HVE) certifications and expanding into organic farming. While they produce crisp white blends of Clairette and Ugni Blanc alongside pale, age-worthy Provençal rosés, Moulin de la Roque is globally respected for its robust, complex Bandol Rouge. These deeply structured red wines are heavily anchored by the region's "king" grape, Mourvèdre, and are strictly aged for the obligatory 18 months in traditional oak foudres to develop intense notes of black fruit, spices, and garrigue.
