Bravante Vineyards is a family-owned, boutique estate perched high in the hills of Angwin, California, within Napa Valley's prestigious, high-elevation Howell Mountain AVA. Founded in 1996 by George and Nancy Bravante—who brought extensive experience from real estate and a massive Central Valley commercial farming background with Bravante Produce—the operation began when the couple planted their foundational Stone Ridge Vineyard in 1998. Later expanding to include the nearby Black Oak Vineyard, the estate encompasses roughly 12 to 14 meticulously farmed acres of vines situated entirely "above the fog line" on sun-drenched, well-draining volcanic ash and gravelly loam soils. Initially crafting their wines off-site, the Bravantes constructed their dedicated mountain production facility and subterranean barrel cave in 2005, achieving a 100% estate grown, produced, and bottled model by 2009 under the long-time winemaking guidance of Duane Dappen, followed by global enologist Mabel Ojeda. Specializing in highly concentrated, small-lot, and structural Bordeaux-style varietals, the producer is celebrated for its flagship Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and their proprietary "Trio" red blend.
