Domaine les Bottes Rouges is owned by Jean-Baptiste Menigoz. Jean-Baptiste Menigoz worked as a teacher (with difficult to educate children). As a hobby, he had a small vineyard in Arbois together with friend and colleague Raphaël Monnier. They spent every free hour in the vineyard, and every year they made their own wine: for their own use, and for family, friends and acquaintances. After about 10 years of experimenting, making mistakes and learning a lot, he finally decided to become a winegrower. Initially part-time, next to his job as a teacher, now full-time. After a few years, he is already considered one of the great talents of the Jura. He is very passionate and perfectionist. He makes pure natural wines, from organically pampered vineyards, vinified without additives (sometimes a pinch of sulphite) and manipulations.
