Domaine Terlato & Chapoutier, formalized in 2000, is a high-profile international joint venture that bridges the New and Old Worlds by combining the viticultural vision of the Terlato family (renowned American wine pioneers and distributors) with the innovative genius of Michel Chapoutier, the legendary biodynamic icon of France's Rhône Valley. Located in the cool, elevated landscapes of the Pyrenees region within Western Victoria, Australia, the estate spans exceptional vineyard sites characterized by mineral-dense soils composed of schist, quartz, and limestone. Adhering strictly to Chapoutier's low-intervention, terroir-focused philosophy, the estate relies on low-yielding, resilient vines—including prized, own-rooted selections that survived over a decade of drought without irrigation—to achieve incredible flavor concentration.
