The Sabathi generations operated a winegrowing business with a vine nursery and mixed agriculture at the Pilchenhof until 1914 and at the Knappenhof in Sernau until 1938. in 1938 grandfather Johann Sabathi sold the reality Knappenhof and together with his wife Ludmilla acquired the present ancestral seat of the family Erwin Sabathi in Pössnitz. In the 1950s, Johann Sabathi already recognized the potential of the Pössnitzberg and bought the first core piece of this vineyard. Even then, he propagated the best of his 50-year-old Sauvignon Blanc vines. The great upswing began in 1992 when Erwin Sabathi (in the tenth generation) joined his parents' business.
