Producer Information
Cantina Museo Albea (commonly known as Cantina Albea) is a historic architectural and agricultural landmark located in the heart of Alberobello, Puglia, an area globally famous for its UNESCO-listed trulli stone houses. Founded in 1905, the winery itself is entirely constructed of local stone, featuring majestic star-vaulted ceilings and ancient fermentation vats carved directly into the living rock to replicate the subterranean water cisterns used by traditional trulli. Managed under the Renzini Group umbrella with winemaking consulting from the world-renowned Riccardo Cotarella alongside enologist Claudio Sisto, the producer manages roughly 52 hectares of vineyards yielding about 20,000 cases annually. They are deeply celebrated for an eco-sustainable, native-grape philosophy that shines through prized bottlings of Primitivo, Susumaniello, Verdeca, Bianco d’Alessano, and their award-winning "Lui" Nero di Troia. A major destination for cultural wine tourism, the top floor of the stone cellar permanently houses the official Alberobello Wine Museum, which takes thousands of annual visitors on a visual journey through vintage agricultural tools and historical photographs capturing centuries of regional winemaking.
