      Reviews:

      • Wine Advocate: Deep garnet-purple in color, it has a wonderfully perfumed nose of violets and black cherries, plus hints of dried mint, dark chocolate and clove oil. Full-bodied, the palate is densely laden with black fruits and minty layers, framed by firm, grainy tannins, finishing long and earthy.
      • Jeb Dunnuck: Another rocking wine, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Field Select boasts a dense purple hue as well as gorgeous notes of blueberry pie, spice box, tobacco, and hints of iron and tapenade. It too is medium to full-bodied, has beautiful opulence, ripe tannins, and a great finish.

      Producer Information

Hayfork's goal is to emphasize the importance of farming in winemaking. Our farming heritage runs deep, as my great-great-great-grandfather, John Lewelling, a horticulturist by trade, settled the St. Helena family ranch in 1864. Whether growing walnuts, prunes, pears or grapes, we have been continuously farming our land for six generations. We are blessed with a fine cabernet soil and microclimate, which produce a grape with great concentration and poise. It is our belief that less is more when it comes to winemaking, and we strive to allow our wines to evolve naturally, with the least amount of manipulation possible. We are proud to create a product that encourages folks to gather together. There is something special about a table shared, and we would be honored to know Hayfork is on your table.
