Producer Information
Farming is in our blood. As third-generation farmers in Sonoma, we grew up on the ranch learning stewardship and sustainability from our parents and grandparents. Our first grapevines were planted in 1969, and for fifty years we have continued to honor our family’s tradition of growing premium grapes from our estate vineyards in Carneros, Napa and along the Sonoma Coast. As a family business, we enjoy working together as a team, with two generations working side-by-side each and every day. Sangiacomo wines are crafted to focus on our passion for the region and its ability to produce wines of complexity, freshness and a pure sense of terroir. Our inspiration is born from a pursuit to make the very finest wines and honor our family heritage while creating opportunity and continuing our legacy for the next generation. All of our primary vineyards are located in Sonoma County, with the majority near our home in Sonoma and smaller plantings in the nearby Petaluma Gap and Sonoma Coast region. We farm over 1600 acres of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in fifteen different vineyards located in four American Viticultural Areas (AVAs): Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Petaluma Gap and Sonoma Valley. Additionally, we farm Cabernet Sauvignon in Oakville, Napa Valley. The real magic happens in more than 100 individually farmed sites spread across our fifteen vineyards. For our Sangiacomo Family Wines, we’ve thoughtfully selected specific rows from our vineyards that best express the unique vineyard sites and appellations. We’ve taken an artisanal approach in our farming and winemaking, allowing each vineyard block to tell a story of the microclimate and soil diversity; best expressing the true terroir of the land we call home.
