Looking to increase production, he started a négoce label under his own name in 2012, expanding the operation in 2013.The operation is a collaboration, working with the support of Johan Björklund, an ex-wine merchant who today runs the boutique and hugely respected Hôtel de Beaune.There is no doubt that Charles is an extremely talented winemaker, as well as being incredibly well-connected – his contacts throughout the Côte d’Or giving him access to some of the most desirable vineyards in the region for his négociant business.The wines are made in tiny volumes and therefore tend to escape the notice of critics, however the quality is as you’d expect from the winemaker of Hudelot-Noëllat.
