        Producer Information

The Fournier Père et Fils winery is situated in France's Loire Valley. It farms vineyard plots in both the appellations of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. The winery works exclusively in Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. The wines are predominantly made from four domaines, the original Fournier and de Saint Romble in Sancerre, and des Berthiers and Paul Corneau in Pouilly-Fumé. Depending on the plots, which tend to be reasonably small in size, the average age of vines range between 30 to 50 years old. The Fournier company was founded in 1950 by Paul Fournier. After nine years of laying down the groundwork, he produced his first wine using under one hectare of vines (around 2 acres). His sons, Claude and Jacques Fournier, helped further develop the vineyards. By the beginning of the 1990s, vineyard holdings spanned 60 hectares (150 acres). In 2015, the winery was acquired by Dutch businessman Joost van der Does de Willebois and his de Villebois company. The wines are available in over 65 countries, and have picked up numerous awards and accolades.
