Producer Information
Atomique³ is a highly specialized, ultra-premium wine project based in Oregon's Willamette Valley that dedicates its entire existence exclusively to the pursuit of world-class, terroir-transparent Chardonnay. Born as a tribute to the visionary vision of the late vintner Mark Tarlov, this ambitious cross-continental collaboration unites a powerhouse trio of international talent: legendary Burgundy vigneron Jean-Marc Roulot of Meursault (marking his historic first consulting foray into United States winemaking), world-renowned Chilean terroir expert and geologist Pedro Parra, and acclaimed Chilean winemaker Felipe Ramirez, who also crafts the wines at the Rose & Arrow facility. The project operates at the intersection of extreme geology and minimalist winemaking, utilizing Parra's microscopic "polygon" soil-mapping techniques to isolate specific micro-plots based strictly on underground bedrock formations rather than traditional vineyard lines. By keeping production microscopic—often just 150 to 200 cases per single-terroir bottling—and limiting intervention, Atomique³ delivers a profound sensory study in soil manipulation, contrasted sharply through expressions like Le Basalt, a taut, flinty, high-acid Chardonnay born from volcanic Eola-Amity Hills rock, and Le Sédimentaire, a rounder, texturally broad expression shaped by ancient marine sedimentary soils.
