Charles & Charles is a dynamic, collaborative wine project founded in 2008 by two prominent figures in the American wine industry: Charles Smith, the rock-and-roll-manager-turned-vintner behind K Vintners, and Charles Bieler, a renowned innovator and early champion of the domestic rosé movement. Operating out of Washington State's sprawling Columbia Valley AVA, the partnership launched with a single vineyard dry rosé inspired by Bieler's multi-generational winemaking roots in Provence, France—a bottle that is widely credited with helping kick-start the modern American rosé renaissance. Rather than relying on a traditional family-owned estate model, Charles & Charles focuses on strong grower partnerships, sourcing hand-made, sustainably farmed fruit from premier, high-elevation vineyard sites. Their award-winning, vineyard-driven portfolio—which now includes robust Syrah-Cabernet red blends, a crisp Cabernet Sauvignon ("Bolt"), and vibrant Rieslings—is celebrated for its edgy, black-and-white graphic labels and its ability to channel the raw energy and distinctive terroir of Washington at highly accessible price points.
