      Producer Information

Domaine Tortochot is wine producer based in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the northern Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or. The domaine specializes in wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety and is most recognized for its three premier cru wines produced from the renowned Lavaux-Saint-Jacques and Champeaux Premier Cru vineyards in Gevrey, as well as the Aux Charmes Premier Cru climat in Morey-Saint-Denis. Domaine Tortochot's wine portfolio also comprises four grand cru wines sourced from plots in the Le Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin and Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru vineyards. The Tortochot family has a viticultural history in Gevrey-Chambertin that goes back four generations. This started in the 19th Century with the vigneron Paul Tortochot. The Tortochots became connected with the notable Liébaut family from Morey-Saint-Denis when Paul's son Félix married Louise Liébaut, who aded her family's vineyards in the village to the Tortochot holdings. The 12-hectare (30-acre) domaine later passed to Félix and Louise's son, Gabriel, who in turn transferred the management of the estate to its current proprietor, his daughter Chantal. Chantal Tortochot-Michel initiated the domine's move towards organic viticulture and in 2013, Domaine Tortochot produced its first vintage of organic-certified wine. All of the domaine's wines undergo malolactic fermentation in barrel and are aged for between 15 to 18 months before racking and bottling. From 1999 onwards, the domaine has neither fined nor filtered its wines.
