The well-known Erste Lage vineyards Brauneberger Juffer and Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr are synonymous with Fritz Haag, which is also known by the name Dusemonder Hof. In total, vineyard holdings cover 19 hectares (46 acres), and the vines are planted on Devonian slate soils on slopes of up to 80 degrees. This terroir is well-suited to Riesling, providing a cool, well-drained environment that allows for full ripening without sacrificing acidity.
