Nose: Dark chocolate, caramelized sugar, and roasted almond layered with vanilla bean and toasted oak. Subtle dried fruit and baking spice emerge with time.

Palate: Rich and full-bodied with flavors of fudge, toffee, and roasted hazelnut. Cinnamon, dark caramel, and charred oak provide depth and structure.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering chocolate, caramel, and toasted oak. Gentle spice and sweet wheat notes fade gradually.

Distillery Information

Maker’s Mark was founded in 1953 by Bill Samuels Sr., who sought to create a smoother, more approachable bourbon using red winter wheat instead of rye. Located in Loretto, Kentucky, the distillery is known for its handcrafted production methods and signature red wax-dipped bottles. Unlike many distilleries, Maker’s Mark rotates barrels within the warehouse to ensure consistent maturation. The brand emphasizes flavor balance and smoothness rather than aggressive oak influence.
