      Detailed Description

The 2022 Waypoint Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay is a rich, beautifully structured single-vineyard white wine from California's Russian River Valley in Sonoma County.

      Producer Information

Waypoint Vineyards (operating under Waypoint Wines) is a limited-production, single-vineyard Northern California wine project operating out of a historic original stone winery in St. Helena, Napa Valley. Founded with an "intrepid viticultural quest" philosophy, the brand is guided by a premier winemaking team consisting of New Zealand native Matt Sands (formerly of Screaming Eagle), assistant winemaker Mark Pittman, and renowned consulting viticulturists Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky. Rather than farming a single estate, Waypoint specializes in sourcing fruit from a curated "rolodex" of legendary, sustainably farmed plots across California's top AVAs to let distinct terroirs speak for themselves. Their portfolio heavily emphasizes small-lot, site-specific varietals, including Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa benchmarks like Beckstoffer Georges III and the hillside Lowrey Vineyard, Pinot Noir from the windswept Terra de Promissio in the Petaluma Gap, old-vine Chardonnay from the acclaimed Ritchie Vineyard and Charles Heintz Vineyard in Sonoma, and Sauvignon Blanc from the high-elevation Grieve Vineyard in Lovall Valley.
