A distinctive white wine made from 100% Grillo grown in the Santa Margherita contrada near Vittoria, at around 490 meters above sea level. The calcareous-sandy soils and Mediterranean setting give the wine a pronounced mineral and saline character, balanced by ripe citrus, stone fruit and floral notes. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged partly in concrete and partly in large Austrian oak barrels, the 2023 vintage is textured, fresh and deeply expressive of its Sicilian origins.

Arianna Occhipinti founded her estate in Vittoria in 2004 and has become one of Sicily's most influential advocates for organic, biodynamic and low-intervention viticulture. Her vineyards are centered around the distinctive landscapes of the Iblei Mountains, where native Sicilian varieties are cultivated with an emphasis on biodiversity and natural expression. The SM wine comes from the Santa Margherita vineyard, planted on mineral-rich calcareous soils at high elevation. Occhipinti's wines are recognized for their strong connection to individual sites and the traditional character of southeastern Sicily.
