Domaine de la Guicharde is a 40-hectare, family-run estate nestled in the unique and protected ecosystem of the Massif d'Uchaux within the northern Vaucluse region of the Southern Rhône Valley, France. Though vines were first planted on the property in 1960, the estate gained prominence after it was taken over in 1988 by Isabelle and Arnaud Guichard—a couple from Burgundy who coincidentally shared the winery's historic name. The estate transitioned fully to organic farming in 2008 and achieved Demeter biodynamic certification in 2010. In 2017, the property was acquired by organic entrepreneur Didier Perréol, who, alongside winemaker Laurence Goudal, has continued to honor its self-sustaining agricultural traditions, which include cultivating olive trees and produce alongside the vineyards. Sourced from high-altitude plateaus featuring rare, weathered limestone and fossil-rich soils, the estate's acclaimed AOC Côtes-du-Rhône and Massif d'Uchaux wines—such as their Grenache and Syrah red blends—are hand-harvested and aged strictly in concrete vats to preserve a pure, mineral-driven, and fruit-forward expression of their wild Mediterranean terroir.
