      Detailed Description

The 2024 Dominique Cornin Saint-Véran Les Serreuxdières is a vibrant, organic white Burgundy that balances crisp mineral energy with rich orchard fruit.

      Producer Information

Domaine Dominique Cornin is a highly respected, family-operated estate located in the village of Chaintré at the southern tip of Burgundy’s Mâconnais region, founded in 1993 by Dominique Cornin and masterfully advanced today by his son, Romain Cornin. Spanning roughly 10 to 12.5 hectares across premier southern Burgundy villages like Chaintré, Fuissé, and Chanes, the estate has been a vanguard for environmental preservation, stopping chemical pesticides in 1998 before achieving full certified organic agriculture status in 2003 and actively practicing biodynamic viticulture to nurture living, balanced soils. The property is highly distinguished by its extraordinary inventory of old vines—with some plots dating as far back as 1909 and 1938—including the coveted single-parcel Les Serreuxdières (classified under the Mâcon-Chaintré AOP), which features dense, historic Chardonnay rootstocks perched on sloped, thin topsoils over deep limestone bedrock. In the cellar, Romain implements a fiercely minimalist, non-interventionist philosophy: hand-harvested fruit undergoes a slow pressing and spontaneous fermentation using only indigenous wild yeasts, followed by a lengthy maturation sur lie utilizing a combination of stainless steel tanks and larger, neutral 600-liter Austrian oak barrels to avoid excessive wood masking. This purist, low-sulfur approach yields a collection of Chardonnays celebrated for their absolute transparency, purity, and vivacious character, effortlessly balancing a rich, texturally generous depth of exotic orchard fruit with a laser-focused, vibrant, and saline mineral core.
