Detailed Description

A richly finished nine-year-old bourbon from the Abraham Bowman series, created in collaboration with Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. Mature bourbon was finished in barrels that had previously held Gingerbread Stout and Foolery Imperial Milk Stout, bringing together classic bourbon sweetness with gingerbread spice and cocoa. The result is a warm, dessert-like whiskey layered with vanilla, caramel, chocolate and toasted oak.

Nose: Warm gingerbread, cinnamon and cloves with vanilla, brown sugar, dark chocolate and toasted oak.

Palate: Rich and creamy, with caramel and vanilla leading into ginger, cinnamon and cocoa. Toasted oak and baking spice provide depth, while the chocolate character becomes more pronounced toward the finish.

Finish: Smooth and medium-long, with lingering dark chocolate, gingerbread spice, cinnamon, vanilla and toasted oak.

A. Smith Bowman Distillery is a historic Virginia distillery founded by Abram Smith Bowman and his family. Originally established on the Bowman family farm, the distillery later moved to Fredericksburg, where it continues to produce Virginia-made spirits. The distillery became part of the Sazerac family in 2003 and is known for both traditional bourbon expressions and experimental limited releases. Its Abraham Bowman series has become particularly associated with innovative maturation and finishing techniques.
