This whisky owes its richness and intensity to its full double sherry finish. It draws a strong influence from both Spanish oak oloroso and Pedro Ximinéz sherry butts.

Nose: Rich notes of ripe fruit, orange zest, toffee buns and plum jam rise from the glass, hinting at a lush sherry depth.

Palate: Rich and fruity on the palate, apricot takes center stage, weaving with chocolate-coated raisins, liquorice root, and freshly grated nutmeg. A silky, sherry-laden sweetness lingers, framed by a refined warmth and a long, satisfying finish.

Finish: A long, complex finish with a warm, lasting sweetness, sherry‑rich and fruit‑forward, softly entwined with spice and cocoa as it lingers, fading to a velvety, refined tail.

Distillery Information

Right in the centre of Aberlour village next to the banks of the Lour Burn the Aberlour distillery sits. In Gaelic Aberlour means “Mouth of the chattering burn”. Sadly in 1898 most of the Aberlour distillery was destroyed by a fire, however this led to the distillery being rebuilt and improvements made in the 1920s, after the second World War, the 1960s and also during the 1970s.
