Adnams 9 Year Old 2016 - World Cup Edition (Master of Malt) Whisky | 700ML

A striking single cask bottling from Adnams – one of our favourite English distilleries, making one of our favourite rye whiskies on the planet! Distilled in 2016 and matured in a French oak wine cask, we bottled this characterfully complex yet gluggable nine-year-old rye for our World Cup series.

Nose: Creamy and spicy, woody and sweet, very appetising.

Palate: Tasty, textured, orange-cream, ginger, Victoria sponge, honey. Full of character and complexity but gluggable.

Finish: Complex but short, herby and spiced finish that demands another sip.

Distillery Information

You may know Adnams from their excellent selection of beers which they’ve been producing since 1872 (we’re fans of the Broadside Bitter here at MoM Towers), but since 2010 they’ve been trying their hand at making spirits too. Not only that, but they’re pretty marvellous spirits indeed! The Adnams Copper House Distillery is equipped with a spectacularly shiny Carl still, fermentation vessels (instead of traditional washbacks – admire a picture of them to your right), and plenty of local grains with which to distil their vodka, gin, whisky, liqueurs, and even an eau-de-vie made using the aforementioned Broadside Bitter.
