Angostura 1919 Grand Reserve is a smooth, premium aged rum crafted from a blend of rums from Trinidad and Tobago. The blend is traditionally associated with rums aged for a minimum of eight years in charred American oak bourbon barrels, developing a rich profile of vanilla, apple, toffee, caramel, and toasted oak. Silky and rounded in texture, it is designed both for sipping and for richer, spirit-forward cocktails.

Nose: Sweet vanilla, ripe apple, caramel, toffee, cocoa, and toasted oak.

Palate: Smooth and rounded, with vanilla, toffee, caramel, molasses, dried fruit, and gentle toasted oak.

Finish: Long, warm, and silky, with lingering vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, and soft spice.

Distillery Information

Angostura traces its origins to 1824, when Dr. Johann Siegert created the company's famous aromatic bitters in Venezuela before the business eventually established itself in Trinidad. Angostura has produced rum for more than 75 years and has developed a broad portfolio of aged Caribbean rums alongside its internationally recognized bitters. The 1919 blend takes its name from a legendary discovery following a 1932 fire at Trinidad's Government Rum Bond, when charred casks containing aged rum were salvaged and found to have developed exceptional character. The modern 1919 expression was reintroduced in 2001 using production principles inspired by that historic blend.
