Part of the first bottlings for the Ardbeg Committee in 2000, this single cask is from a 1976 batch of sherry casks that took Ardbeg's reputation into the stratosphere.

Nose: Very clean and appetising, with a gentle floral character.
Palate: There is a much greater presence of peat in the taste than the nose suggests. The smokiness quickly hits the palate and then tapers off.
Finish: Rich and smooth.

Ardbeg Distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Ardbeg on the south coast of the isle of Islay, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, in the Inner Hebrides group of islands. The distillery is owned by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, and produces a heavily peated Islay whisky.
