Detailed Description

Ardbeg Dolce is a limited-edition Islay single malt that brings together the distillery’s signature peat smoke and the rich sweetness of Sicilian Marsala wine casks. Inspired by the glamour and atmosphere of 1960s Italian cinema, this release balances bold smoky character with vibrant Mediterranean fruit and dessert-like richness. Matured in a combination of sweet Marsala wine casks and classic bourbon barrels, it offers a distinctive contrast between coastal intensity and luscious sweetness. Non-chill-filtered, it delivers a layered, expressive whisky with a long, lingering finish.

Ardbeg Dolce Cue The Smoke Limited Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Orange marmalade, ripe apricot, raisins and honeycomb mingle with earthy peat smoke, toasted nuts and hints of dark chocolate.

Palate: Rich and rounded, with baked dates, stewed apple, citrus peel and sweet malt layered over smoky wood, cinnamon, star anise and dark chocolate. Savoury notes of salted nuts and dried herbs add complexity.

Finish: Long and warming, with smoked applewood, bonfire embers, drying tobacco and lingering peat. Sweet dried fruit and gentle spice remain beneath the smoky coastal character.

Distillery Information

Ardbeg Distillery is located on the southern coast of Islay, an island renowned for producing heavily peated Scotch whisky. Founded in 1815, the distillery developed a distinctive style defined by intense peat smoke, maritime influence and a rich, oily texture. Its traditional production methods and commitment to characterful malt whisky have earned it a devoted following among whisky enthusiasts. Today, Ardbeg continues to explore the relationship between Islay’s rugged whisky-making heritage and innovative approaches to maturation, while maintaining its unmistakably smoky house style.
