Detailed Description
Detailed Description
An exceptionally mature Ardmore distilled in 1985 and aged for 41 years in a single refill hogshead. Retaining the old-school character of Ardmore's direct-fired still era, it balances mature waxiness and gentle Highland peat with bright citrus and mineral tones. Vanilla, buttercream, crystallised lemon and candied orange sit alongside dusty old oak and subtle smoke. A remarkably fresh and distillate-driven whisky despite its considerable age.

Nose: Abundant wax, bone-dry peat, soft smoke, tar, sheep wool, hessian, crystallised lemon, candied orange, vanilla and dusty old oak.

Finish: Long and softly peated, with gentle soot, herbal notes, wax, citrus peel and lingering mineral freshness.
Distillery Information
Ardmore was founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher to supply peated malt for Teacher’s blends, and it remains one of the more distinctive Highland distilleries for that reason. While peat is more commonly associated with Islay, Ardmore built its name on a smokier Highland style, combining earthy peat, gentle spice and a slightly dry, robust character. The distillery is based at Kennethmont and is now part of Suntory Global Spirits.
