A limited edition single malt, bottled exclusively for members of the Ardnahoe Society in 2024. Matured for five years in Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry quarter casks and bottled at cask strength, it's a cracking collectible from the young Islay distillery.

Nose: Peat smoke, lemon zest, green apple, sweet barley, vanilla, honey, sea spray, earthy peat, and toasted oak.

Palate: Smoky malt, roasted citrus, pear, vanilla cream, honey, caramel, black pepper, maritime salinity, earthy peat, and toasted oak with a rich, oily texture.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering peat smoke, lemon peel, sweet malt, vanilla, sea salt, pepper, and gentle oak spice.

Distillery Information

Ardnahoe, Islay's ninth distillery, was founded by the Laing family from Hunter Laing bottlers and blenders of Glasgow. Ground was broken in 2016 and the first whisky came off the stills in 2018. The distillery features Oregon pine fermenters, two lantern shaped pot stills (a 13,000 litre wash still and an 11,000 litre spirit still), the longest lyne arm in Scotland (or so they tell me), and worm tub condensers. They malt used is peated to around 40ppm. Fermentation times are long at around 72 hours to produce a fruity, elegantly smoky new make. Fillings predominately go into bourbon casks with around 25% oloroso sherry.
