A distinctive 17-year-old Inchgower distilled on 26 June 2009 and bottled by Finn Thomson on 1 July 2026. The whisky spent most of its maturation in a refill hogshead before being re-racked into an Oloroso sherry cask in July 2024 for its final two years. This carefully judged finishing period was intended to add complexity rather than overwhelm Inchgower's naturally waxy, oily and gently peppery spirit. Delicate dried fruit, toasted nuts and baking spice are layered over the distillery's distinctive coastal character, creating a balanced and elegant single malt.

Nose: Stewed orchard fruits, dried figs and dark berries, with orange peel and dark honey. Roasted nuts, raisins, dark chocolate and gentle sea spray add depth to the rich sherried character.

Palate: Rich sherry sweetness, raisins and red berries develop into toffee, roasted nuts and warming baking spices. Dark fruit and chocolate are balanced by malty depth, subtle oak and a gentle coastal influence.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering dried fruits, dark cocoa, oak spice and roasted nuts. A subtle maritime character remains beneath the fading sherry sweetness and dark chocolate notes.

Distillery Information

Ardnamurchan was opened by Adelphi in 2014 at Glenbeg on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, one of the most westerly parts of the British mainland. Adelphi had built its reputation as an independent bottler before creating its own distillery, with Ardnamurchan designed as a modern West Highland producer shaped by a remote coastal location and a strong focus on sustainability.
