Detailed Description

Ballantine's 17 Year Old Malbon Edition is a collaboration between the renowned Scotch whisky brand and golf lifestyle label Malbon. This mature blend combines carefully selected malt and grain whiskies aged for at least 17 years, delivering a refined balance of honeyed sweetness, fresh orchard fruits, creamy vanilla, and gentle oak. The influence of Glenburgie single malt contributes fruity depth, while subtle smoke and warming spice add complexity. Smooth and approachable, this edition celebrates the relaxed social atmosphere surrounding golf through a distinctive collaboration between whisky craftsmanship and contemporary golf culture.

Nose: Fresh red apples, ripe pears, and citrus zest mingle with honey, malt biscuits, creamy vanilla, and delicate toasted oak.

Palate: Juicy mango, green apple, and honey combine with vanilla cream, soft nougat, and rich toffee. Gingerbread spice and subtle wood smoke add depth, balanced by a smooth, rounded malt character.

Finish: Long, creamy, and gently sweet, with lingering honey, orchard fruits, vanilla, delicate oak, and a soft touch of smoke.

Distillery Information

Ballantine's traces its origins to 1827, when George Ballantine established a grocery business in Edinburgh, Scotland, before expanding into Glasgow and developing his whisky blending business. The brand became known for combining malt and grain whiskies from different Scottish regions to achieve a consistent, balanced house style. Its blending tradition places particular emphasis on the contribution of Speyside malts, alongside whiskies from other regions that provide structure, richness, and subtle smoky character. Now part of the international spirits portfolio of Pernod Ricard, Ballantine's remains one of Scotland's best-known blended Scotch whisky brands, recognised for its long-standing blending expertise and internationally established reputation.
