The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old Victo Ngai Limited Edition presents the distillery's celebrated rum-cask-finished Speyside single malt in a specially designed collector's presentation featuring artwork by acclaimed illustrator Victo Ngai. The whisky is matured for 14 years in traditional oak whisky casks before being transferred to American oak casks previously filled with a blend of carefully selected Caribbean rums. This finishing period adds a distinctive tropical sweetness to Balvenie's naturally honeyed and fruity house style. Creamy toffee, fresh fruit and vanilla develop alongside sweet oak and subtle exotic character, creating a smooth, rounded and approachable single malt.

Nose: Vanilla, honeyed toffee and creamy oak rise, lifted by tropical fruit and a subtle rum influence. Warm and elegant, with citrus peel and gentle spice weaving through the aroma.

Palate: Silky, honeyed on the palate, with satin toffee and vanilla carrying tropical fruit and orchard sweetness. Subtle spice threads through creamy oak, building toward a warm, lingering finish that echoes the Caribbean rum cask finish.

Finish: Warm, lingering finish with honeyed sweetness fading into toffee and a subtle fruit lift. The rum-cask finish softens the oak, leaving a creamy, velvety tail crowned by gentle spice and a sun-kissed sweetness that lingers on the palate.

Distillery Information

Founded in 1889 by William Grant, Balvenie is located next to the giant Glenfiddich distillery on the outskirts of Dufftown in Speyside. The distillery employs traditional whisky making methods, being one of the few to retain its original floor maltings and on site cooperage. The Balvenie single malt is typically rich, luxuriously smooth, and has a distinctive honeyed character.
