Balvenie Doublewood 14 Year Old Victo Ngai Edition keeps the same whisky as the regular Doublewood, but presents it in a limited design pack featuring artwork by illustrator Victo Ngai. The Balvenie DoubleWood gains its distinctive character from being matured in two different wood types. Each stage lends different qualities to the resulting Whisky. The traditional casks soften and add delicate character, the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour and the final few months in our tuns allow the whiskies to marry harmoniously.

Nose: Aromas of ripe sweet fruit interlace with rich Oloroso sherry, opening to honeyed sweetness and soft vanilla.

Palate: Smooth and mellow with nutty sweetness, a gentle cinnamon spice, and a delicately layered sherry note that lends depth and quiet richness.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering nutty sweetness and cinnamon spice, softly tempered by sherry notes as the warmth slowly fades into a refined, elegant finish.

Distillery Information

Founded in 1889 by William Grant, Balvenie is located next to the giant Glenfiddich distillery on the outskirts of Dufftown in Speyside. The distillery employs traditional whisky making methods, being one of the few to retain its original floor maltings and on site cooperage. The Balvenie single malt is typically rich, luxuriously smooth, and has a distinctive honeyed character.
