Nose: Deep aromas of old Burgundy, flower honey, molasses, and varnished oak.
Palate: Rich with stewed plum, walnut wine, dark toffee, and cedar.
Finish: Cigar box, cocoa, and lingering rancio complexity.
Distillery Information
"The "Old Orkney distillery story" often refers to Highland Park, founded by Viking descendant Magnus Eunson around 1798, a church officer who illegally distilled spirits, hiding them under church pulpits before getting caught and eventually licensing the operation. Another key site was the Stromness Distillery."
