Nose: Dried fruit, honey, charred oak, vanilla, and subtle floral notes.

Palate: Vanilla, caramel, apricot, raisin, sweet oak, and gentle baking spice.

Finish: Pleasant and lingering, with charred oak, dried fruit, honey, and delicate Cognac influence.

Distillery Information

The James B. Beam Distilling Co. is one of Kentucky’s historic bourbon producers and is based in Clermont, Kentucky. Basil Hayden was introduced in 1992 as part of Jim Beam’s Small Batch collection, drawing inspiration from Meredith Basil Hayden Sr., a Kentucky distilling pioneer known for using a higher proportion of rye. The brand has become known for its lighter-bodied, approachable high-rye bourbon style. The Cognac Cask Reserve extends that identity into limited-edition cask-finished releases.
