Detailed Description

A powerful and elegant 19-year-old Benrinnes selected by Elixir Distillers for The Single Malts of Scotland collection. Distilled in November 2006 and matured for almost two decades in a refill hogshead, the restrained cask influence allows Benrinnes' naturally rich and fruity Speyside character to remain at the forefront. Ripe apple and pear are layered with vanilla and golden honey, supported by creamy malt, gentle oak and subtle warming spice. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 57% ABV, this single-cask release offers impressive concentration while retaining a bright and refined fruit-driven profile. Only 247 bottles were produced.

Benrinnes Single Malts Of Scotland Single Cask #310428 19 Year Old · 2006 Vintage Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Ripe apple and pear, followed by creamy vanilla and golden honey. Soft malt sweetness, gentle oak and delicate spice add depth to the bright orchard-fruit character.

Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, with apple and pear balanced by honeyed sweetness and creamy vanilla. Gentle spice and subtle oak provide structure without overwhelming the whisky's naturally fruity Speyside character.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering orchard fruit, vanilla and honey. Light oak and gentle spice remain as the sweetness gradually fades.

Distillery Information

Benrinnes was first established in 1826 by Peter MacKenzie at Whitehouse Farm near Aberlour, on the lower slopes of Ben Rinnes. The original distillery was destroyed by flooding in 1829, with a new site later developed nearby. After early ownership changes, David Edward took over in 1864, and the distillery was sold to John Dewar & Sons in 1922 before becoming part of DCL three years later. It is now owned by Diageo.
