The 2026 expression combines the signature use of Chinquapin oak with Hungarian oak, both naturally seasoned and air-dried for three years before custom toasting and charring. The result is a rich, decadent profile built around cherry and baking spice, with toasted pecans, butter toffee and layers of chocolate. Bottled at 108 proof, it offers a full-bodied and silky texture with considerable depth.

Nose: Bright cherry and other ripe fruit with roasted nuts, butter toffee, vanilla and toasted oak.

Palate: Rich and decadent, with dark chocolate surrounding layers of cherry and baking spice, complemented by toasted pecans and buttery toffee.

Finish: Long, silky and complex, with lingering chocolate, cherry, toasted nuts, baking spice and polished oak.

Distillery Information

Michter's traces its heritage to 1753, when Swiss Mennonite farmer John Shenk founded Shenk's Distillery in Pennsylvania. The distillery was later renamed Bomberger's Distillery in the 1800s before eventually becoming associated with the Michter's name in the 20th century. Bomberger's Declaration forms part of Michter's Legacy Series, which celebrates this historic American whiskey heritage. Modern Michter's is based in Louisville and is known for small-batch and limited-production American whiskeys. The 2026 release continues the series' emphasis on distinctive oak treatment and highly developed flavor profiles.
