Distilled in September 2015, this single malt from Bowmore spent eight years maturing in a single barrel. The cask was opened by Douglas Laing in November 2023, releasing a total of 310 bottles for the independent Provenance collection.

Nose: Sooty smoke, cakey spice, roasted barley, and chocolate-coated coffee beans.

Palate: Vanilla fudge softens bold, pungent peat smoke, with salted chocolate in tow.

Finish: Coastal, mineral character lingers, with oatcakes and marmalade, oaken vanilla, and chimney smoke.

Distillery Information

Bowmore is the first licensed Islay distillery. It has stood on the shores of Lochindaal, a sea loch opening out into the wild Atlantic Ocean, since 1779. To this day, the distillery still operates in traditional ways, honouring the origin whisky-making techniques. Bowmore is still hand crafted today.
