This Estate cask expression was the first official release from Brenne whisky. Launched on October 1, 2012, in New York City, it carries no age statement, as each batch of Brenne Estate Cask is bottled individually by the barrel, making the age for each cask vary depending on how long the Cognac has been in the barrel. On average, this Brenne whisky ages for a total of about 7 years, before being bottled at 80 proof.

Brenne French Estate Cask Single Malt Scotch Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of violet and lilac, clove, vanilla, and apples on the nose.

Palate: The palate is medium-bodied, silky, crisp, dry, smooth, and complex, with flavors of orange blossom, sweet almonds and cashews, blueberries, hibiscus and white chocolate.

Finish: The finish is medium length, honeyed and floral.

Four hundred kilometers southwest of Paris, the city of Cognac, France (population 19,243) lends its name to one of the world's best-known types of brandy. There, a third-generation master distiller trained in the traditional art of cognac distillation — and with a secret love affair for whisky — has been making Brenne single malt whisky since 2002. Patel launched Brenne in 2012 in New York, collaborating this third-generation French master distiller.
