Bulleit 20 Year Old Cask Strength Rye Whiskey is the oldest rye whiskey ever released under the Bulleit name. Distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana from Bulleit's signature 95% rye and 5% malted barley mash bill, it was matured for two decades in Kentucky before being bottled at its natural cask strength of 137 proof. The exceptionally limited release was created from carefully selected mature barrels chosen to preserve the bright, spicy identity of rye despite extensive oak aging. Rich dried fruit, polished leather, clove, maple spice and vanilla are layered with deep oak complexity, creating an intense yet remarkably expressive ultra-aged rye.

Nose: Fruit and cream layered with polished leather, dried fruit, clove, maple spice, soft vanilla and deeply seasoned oak.

Palate: Powerful and full-bodied, with ripe and dark fruit, caramelized sweetness and pronounced clove and warm rye spice. Notes of orange marmalade, grilled peach, dill, sage and mature leather add further complexity beneath the intense cask-strength structure.

Finish: Exceptionally long, warm and complex, with lingering mature oak, cigar ash, peppermint, white pepper, toasted pecans and persistent rye spice.

Distillery Information

Bulleit Frontier Whiskey was founded in 1987 and became an important part of the modern American rye revival after introducing Bulleit Rye in 2011. Its signature high-rye style, based on a 95% rye and 5% malted barley mash bill, helped establish Bulleit as a familiar name among bartenders and rye whiskey drinkers. The brand is now owned by Diageo, with its American whiskey development led by a team focused on preserving Bulleit's bold and spicy character while exploring older and more experimental releases. The 20 Year Old Rye represents the oldest expression in the brand's history and was developed through extensive barrel selection under Diageo's American whiskey team. Only 1,776 bottles were released, making it an exceptionally rare and highly collectible Bulleit expression.
